Since 2008, I am enrolled in the PhD research program with Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California. Currently, I am crafting my dissertation proposal, in which I will engage my value network in an action research project to learn how we can design minimal structures that enable a groove in our meetings and in our projects. Central to my dissertation is the scholarly conversation of organizational improvisation. This uses ideas and concepts from jazz improvisation as a metaphor for collaboration, innovation, and creativity in complex situations in organizations. The research papers that I made leading up to my dissertation can be found here.

My research is sponsored by six Dutch entrepreneurs: Kalo Bagijn, Johan Burgemeester, Charles van Gogh, Roland Hameeteman, Ronald van den Hoff, and Herman van Middendorp.
